The Bihar Police have implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy to curb hooliganism during the upcoming Holi festival. Additional police forces have been deployed in major cities and sensitive areas across the state to maintain peace and order. Director General of Police Vinay Kumar has instructed district police chiefs to take stringent preventive measures to ensure a peaceful celebration.
Police stations have been directed to identify and closely monitor sensitive areas within their jurisdictions to prevent any disturbances. Control rooms in each district will be actively monitoring the situation at regular intervals and reporting any untoward incidents to the DGP Control Room. Additional Director General (Law and Order) Pankaj Kumar Darad has urged SPs and SSPs to deploy adequate forces and magistrates in key locations.
Authorities are emphasizing the review of past Holi incidents, monitoring disputes related to old rivalries and land conflicts, and taking necessary preventive actions under relevant laws. The police are instructed to maintain impartiality and take strict action against troublemakers from all communities. Senior officials will personally intervene in case of serious situations, and legal actions will be taken against those spreading rumors or hatred.
To ensure a peaceful festival, a significant number of security personnel have been deployed, including the Range Reserve Force, Bihar Armed Police Force, trainee constables, Home Guards, and Central Armed Police Forces. Patna has seen a concentrated deployment of forces, with additional deployments in various districts based on requirements. Special attention will be given to insurgency-affected areas and vulnerable locations to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
