The BJP in Karnataka accused the state’s Congress party of deviating from democratic principles and aligning with urban Naxals, as per Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy. He criticized the Congress for this alleged alignment, labeling it a “Communist Congress urban Naxalite” party.

Narayanaswamy highlighted the importance of mutual respect in a federal system, criticizing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly disrespecting the Prime Minister. He also targeted Minister Priyank Kharge for similar behavior, questioning his electoral prospects without his father’s influence.

The BJP leader further claimed that Congress leaders, post-alignment with Communists, have adopted urban Naxal-like behaviors. He mentioned the approval of the VB-G RAM G Act by the Central government, emphasizing its role in supporting rural livelihoods.

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy delved into the history of rural employment schemes, pointing out various name changes over the years. He raised concerns about corruption in these schemes, alleging mismanagement and irregularities in fund utilization.
