After a crackdown on illegal construction by the BJP government in West Bengal, party MLAs alleged corruption by the previous Trinamool Congress administration. Following a fatal fire incident in a multi-storey building in Kolkata, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials arrived to demolish the damaged structure. Women and Child Development Minister Agnimitra Paul highlighted the importance of the government’s intentions in such matters.

Paul criticized the former Trinamool Congress government for allegedly benefiting from illegal constructions. She expressed concern over the tragic deaths of two laborers in the recent fire incident. The Minister emphasized that the new BJP government, led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, will not tolerate illegal constructions.

Notices have been issued by Paul’s department to municipalities and corporations regarding illegal buildings. BJP MP Rahul Sinha supported the government’s actions against illegal constructions, blaming the previous regime for corrupt practices. Sinha affirmed the government’s commitment to rectifying the system and preventing future illegal activities.
