The Tamil Nadu BJP criticized VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan, claiming he has tied his party to the ruling DMK for political advantages. The BJP spokesperson accused Thirumavalavan of diluting VCK’s independent identity by aligning closely with the DMK, deviating from its original purpose of advocating for Scheduled Caste rights.
According to the BJP, Thirumavalavan’s association with the DMK goes against the core values of the VCK, which was founded to champion the rights of Scheduled Castes. The BJP spokesperson criticized Thirumavalavan for allegedly engaging in divisive politics by focusing on minority appeasement and neglecting issues faced by Dalits in the state.
The BJP further alleged that Thirumavalavan failed to address various concerns affecting Dalits in Tamil Nadu and accused him of not utilizing funds allocated for Scheduled Caste welfare effectively. The BJP spokesperson also criticized Thirumavalavan for engaging in what was described as political theatrics by mediating political discussions on behalf of the DMK while publicly denouncing other parties.
