BJP Alleges Corruption in Karnataka Excise Department, Calls for Minister’s Resignation

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Karnataka unit accused the Excise Department of bribery, transfer racket, and widespread corruption, urging the resignation of Excise Minister R.B. Thimmapur. Opposition Leader R. Ashoka highlighted instances of bribery for licenses and transfers within the department, supported by released audio recordings and complaints to the Lokayukta.
Ashoka criticized the state Excise Department for its alleged involvement in corrupt practices, emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the situation.
In a detailed statement, Ashoka raised concerns about the unethical practices within the Excise Department, pointing out the detrimental impact on society and the lack of accountability from the Minister and officials involved.
