The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revealed its four candidates from Gujarat for the upcoming Rajya Sabha biennial elections. The nominees are Raju Shukla, Mukesh Rathwa, Mansinh Parmar, and Jitendra Kanzariya. These candidates have been approved by the party’s central leadership to contest the seats that will become vacant later this month.
The retirement of current Rajya Sabha members Ram Mokariya, Narhari Amin, Shaktisinh Gohil, and Ramila Bara has necessitated these elections. The polling is scheduled for June 18, with the last date for nominations being June 8, scrutiny on June 9, and the option to withdraw nominations until June 11. The BJP, with a strong majority in the Gujarat Assembly, is expected to secure all four seats.
Raju Shukla, a seasoned BJP leader, is among the nominees. He has a background in various party roles and has been actively involved in organizational activities. Mukesh Rathwa, representing the tribal community, and Mansinh Parmar, the BJP OBC Morcha Gujarat president, are also part of the candidate list. Jitendra Kanzariya, an OBC leader, completes the quartet of nominees.
