BJP Bihar State President Sanjay Saraogi praised the Union Budget 2026–27, labeling it as “historic” and criticized the opposition for overlooking the development efforts led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, especially for Bihar. Saraogi emphasized the infrastructure and development projects earmarked for the state, highlighting initiatives like the development of waterways on various rivers and the focus on women’s empowerment.
He pointed out that the opposition failed to acknowledge the significant infrastructure and development proposals aimed at Bihar. Saraogi also mentioned the government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment, particularly through the ‘Jeevika Didi’ program. He stressed the importance of empowering Bihar for overall progress and commended Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in this regard.
The Union Budget 2026–27, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, includes measures focusing on infrastructure, logistics, urban development, and MSMEs, with a positive outlook for Bihar’s long-term benefits. Key announcements such as investments in inland waterways and the development of the Ganga river corridor are expected to boost Bihar’s transportation capabilities and industrial growth.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also supported the budget, despite opposition criticism, noting its positive and forward-looking aspects. He highlighted the budget’s emphasis on high-speed rail corridors and the expansion of national waterways, particularly mentioning the benefits these developments would bring to Bihar.
