The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates submitted their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha and Karnataka Legislative Council elections at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. Prof. M. Nagaraj is the BJP’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha election, while Lingaraj Patil and Raghu Kautilya are contesting for the Legislative Council seats.
Senior party leaders, including B.Y. Vijayendra and B.S. Yediyurappa, were present to support the candidates during the nomination process. The BJP-JD(S) alliance’s surprise third candidate, Govindaraju, has intensified the political scenario for the seven Karnataka Legislative Council seats.
The election dynamics have shifted with eight candidates now vying for seven seats, making it a closely watched political contest. The NDA alliance’s decision to field Govindaraju as the third candidate has created a challenge for the Congress’s strategy to secure its fifth candidate unopposed.
