The BJP has accused the Congress of politicizing the academic futures of twenty-two lakh students by involving politics in the NEET issue. BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari urged Congress to focus on its historical failures in national exams rather than targeting Rahul Gandhi. Bhandari highlighted past academic scams under Congress rule, including leaks in major exams and recruitment scams in Congress-ruled states.
In response, Bhandari defended the BJP government’s integrity, citing swift actions taken after irregularities in NEET-UG 2026. The NEET exam was promptly canceled to protect honest students, with a re-exam scheduled for June 21 at no extra cost. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took public responsibility, and the CBI was assigned to investigate the matter.
Bhandari detailed law enforcement actions, mentioning arrests of key figures like PV Kulkarni and Manisha Mandhare in connection to the NEET issue. Operations in Jaipur, Gurugram, and Nashik led to the apprehension of related individuals. The BJP government emphasized its support for honest students and vowed to combat exam mafias and political opportunism.
