The BJP criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, for his recent remarks against the Central government, labeling them as “regrettable.” BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia condemned Gandhi’s statement predicting the fall of the Modi government, accusing the Congress party of spreading negativity during a time of global uncertainty. Bhatia emphasized India’s resilience under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership amidst global economic instability and crises affecting other nations.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Bhatia highlighted the challenging global phase and praised India’s economic strength and resilience under PM Modi’s governance. He expressed disappointment over Gandhi’s comments, stating that India, unlike many other nations, has maintained a robust economy during the past 85 days. Referring to PM Modi’s call for fuel conservation, Bhatia commended the unity of 1.4 billion Indians in facing global challenges with patriotism.
Bhatia accused Rahul Gandhi of orchestrating a “toolkit” to sow confusion and instability, alleging that Gandhi’s actions were detrimental to the nation. He criticized Gandhi’s prediction of the government’s collapse within a year, likening him to the mythological character Bhasmasur turned astrologer. The BJP spokesperson condemned Gandhi’s attempts to incite unrest and weaken democratic institutions during a critical period.
Questioning the opposition’s unity with the country during global crises, Bhatia presented inflation data to illustrate India’s effective management compared to other major economies. He urged Rahul Gandhi to refrain from disparaging India and emphasized the government’s commitment to the nation’s progress and the well-being of its citizens. Bhatia also highlighted India’s marginal fuel price increase compared to other countries, attributing it to the government’s efforts to shield the public from financial burdens.
