The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the UDF government’s policy address in Kerala, accusing it of being misleading and silent on corruption allegations and the Sabarimala gold theft controversy. BJP MLAs Rajeev Chandrasekhar, V. Muraleedharan, and B.B. Gopakumar expressed disappointment, stating that the address lacked a clear roadmap for the state’s development and financial recovery. They claimed that the government was blaming the Centre for Kerala’s challenges while ignoring its own failures.
The BJP leaders highlighted the absence of concrete proposals in the policy address to enhance Kerala’s revenue or address the state’s financial crisis. They also criticized the government for allegedly failing to implement various welfare and development schemes announced by the Centre. Former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan pointed out that the UDF government had not effectively countered the Centre’s claims, unlike the previous LDF government.
Gopakumar emphasized the lack of clarity in the policy address regarding revenue generation, project implementation, and resource allocation. Meanwhile, CPI-M leader S.S. Biju joined the BJP, citing State Party President Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s vision for Kerala’s development. The BJP, which won three seats in the recent Assembly polls, aims to challenge the government’s actions with factual arguments in the Assembly.
