The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent foreign trips have brought significant strategic, defense, and economic advantages to India. Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra discussed the outcomes of PM Modi’s visits to Seychelles, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Japan’s leadership visits to India. Patra’s presentation, titled “10 Kadam, 10 Ka Dum,” highlighted India’s strengthened role in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific regions through these visits.
India has gained global trust by maintaining political stability, policy continuity, and economic strength amidst global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and economic uncertainties, according to Patra. Describing PM Modi’s visits as efforts to bolster strategic alliances in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific regions, he noted India’s expanded presence and cooperation in the maritime domain from Seychelles to Indonesia.
Patra underscored the strategic importance of Indonesia’s Sabang Port due to its proximity to the busy Strait of Malacca, a vital maritime route for international trade. He mentioned that India’s collaboration with Indonesia on the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile signifies India’s progress from defense equipment importer to partner and exporter, advancing its defense capabilities. Additionally, he highlighted defense agreements between India and New Zealand to enhance cooperation in maritime security and defense.
PM Modi’s visits aimed to enhance cooperation in critical sectors such as minerals, energy security, and new technologies, as India strengthens its strategic partnerships in a changing global landscape. The BJP spokesperson emphasized that these foreign policy efforts are geared towards safeguarding India’s national interests and establishing enduring relationships with major global powers, further elevating India’s global influence.
