The BJP kickstarted the Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha election process as Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agrawal filed their nomination papers. They were supported by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal, ministers, and legislators during the nomination filing at the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Before filing, the candidates participated in a meeting of BJP MLAs and offered prayers at a temple on the party’s premises.
Elections are underway for three seats in Madhya Pradesh, with the BJP having a favorable position in the Assembly arithmetic. The Congress has nominated Meenakshi Natarajan for the elections, with the filing expected on June 8. The BJP, with 165 seats out of 230, holds a strong position, while the Congress, with 62 MLAs, is set to send Natarajan to the Rajya Sabha.
The filing of nominations has brought clarity to the Rajya Sabha contest in Madhya Pradesh. Tarun Chugh expressed gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility to represent the BJP in the Upper House. Rajneesh Agrawal stated that his nomination signifies the party’s directive to take on the responsibility, emphasizing that he will fulfill it as instructed by the party.
