The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ramping up its efforts for the Bankipur Assembly by-election as its candidate Abhishek Kumar Sinha, also known as Bunty, is slated to submit his nomination papers on Thursday. Several senior BJP and NDA leaders are expected to join the nomination event, underscoring the party’s commitment to retaining this significant seat. Notable figures like BJP’s national president Nitin Nabin and Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi are set to participate, with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary likely to be present as well.
The presence of these senior leaders is being seen as a demonstration of the party’s organizational strength in the lead-up to the by-election. Abhishek Kumar, who holds the position of State Vice-President of the BJP Yuva Morcha, will kick off his day by paying respects at the statue of his political mentor and former MLA Navin Kishore Sinha at Navin Sinha Park in Shastri Nagar. Following this, he will engage in prayers at various temples before heading to the Patna Collectorate to file his nomination papers.
After completing the nomination process, Bunty will hold an ‘Aashirwad Sabha’ at the Scout and Guide Complex on Buddha Marg. Subsequently, he plans to visit the Mahavir Temple near Patna Junction before commencing his public outreach campaign at 3:00 p.m. BJP National President Nitin Nabin has already arrived in Patna for a two-day visit to Bihar and is expected to take part in Abhishek’s nomination ceremony. The Bankipur constituency carries significant weight for the BJP, given Nitin Nabin’s past representation of the seat before transitioning to a Rajya Sabha member.
His elevation to the Upper House created the vacancy necessitating the ongoing by-election, which has become a closely watched political battle in Bihar. The BJP’s mobilization of senior leaders for Abhishek Kumar’s nomination underscores the strategic value attached to the Bankipur constituency.
