Karnataka BJP In-charge Radha Mohan Das Agrawal has accused Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge of sowing discord between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for personal gain. Agrawal claimed that Kharge, from Delhi, was fueling conflict to advance his own political ambitions, likening him to the troublemaking monkey in a fable about two quarreling cats.
Agrawal asserted that not only were Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar vying for the Chief Minister’s position, but Kharge was also eyeing the role. He mentioned that the Congress government in Karnataka was faltering, with several Congress MLAs reportedly in contact with the BJP. Agrawal predicted that if elections were held soon, the people would favor the BJP over the Congress.
The BJP leader further criticized the Congress government for financial mismanagement, attributing Karnataka’s economic woes to excessive borrowing. He highlighted the internal strife within the Congress, stating that the state had been devoid of effective governance due to ongoing infighting among party leaders. Agrawal also addressed queries about the BJP’s state leadership, emphasizing that the party’s evaluation processes were ongoing and transparent.
