Senior BJP leader and Karnataka’s Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, slammed the Congress government in the state for its focus on minority appeasement. Ashoka accused the government of reintroducing the hijab and dropping cases related to communal incidents.
Speaking at the state BJP office in Bengaluru, Ashoka criticized the state government for withdrawing cases against those involved in riots and attacks on police and a Union minister’s vehicle. He emphasized that such actions were not in line with national security interests.
Ashoka highlighted the government’s decision to reintroduce the hijab policy as part of its appeasement strategy. He urged the government to prioritize withdrawing cases against farmers and pro-Kannada activists instead of indulging in minority appeasement.
The BJP leader accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of pursuing policies that go against the Constitution. He demanded transparency regarding the proposed cricket stadium project near Anekal and criticized the government for neglecting the needs of the majority community.
Ashoka raised concerns about the Bidadi township project, alleging that it would benefit certain individuals financially while disregarding farmers’ interests. He warned that the Congress government could face electoral defeat if farmers opposed its initiatives and criticized the government’s involvement in real estate dealings across the state.
