BJP Central Parliamentary Committee Member B. S. Yediyurappa marked his 84th birthday with various events in Bengaluru. Starting the day with prayers at a Lord Ganesh temple, he also performed traditional rituals like feeding calves. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is set to speak at an evening felicitation program in his honor.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy conveyed warm birthday wishes to Yediyurappa, emphasizing his leadership and statesmanship. Kumaraswamy prayed for Yediyurappa’s well-being and longevity in serving the public. BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai praised Yediyurappa’s dedication to farmers and the people, highlighting his impactful initiatives for different sections of society.
Yediyurappa’s role in the growth of BJP in Karnataka was lauded by BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra. Rising in politics from a non-political background, Yediyurappa’s efforts in expanding the party’s rural presence were acknowledged. The celebrations, including a felicitation event in Shikaripura, were organized this year at the insistence of supporters and well-wishers.
Yediyurappa’s enduring influence and popularity in Karnataka politics were evident through the widespread celebrations and greetings across the state. As a four-time Chief Minister, he is recognized for establishing BJP as a significant political entity in Karnataka and leading it to power in South India for the first time post-Independence.
