BJP leader and former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh commended the success of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026 final between Haryana Thunders and Delhi Dangal Warriors. Singh described the tournament as a significant achievement, attributing the sport’s growth to improved sports infrastructure in the last decade.

Singh expressed admiration for the thrilling final, stating that the competition remained intense until the end with a tied score of 4–4. He highlighted the rarity of such suspense in wrestling matches, making this final stand out in recent history.

Emphasizing India’s wrestling prowess, Singh expressed optimism about the country’s future performance on the global stage. He credited the government’s efforts in enhancing sports infrastructure for the steady progress of wrestling in India.

Haryana Thunders secured the PWL 2026 title with a thrilling 5–4 victory over Delhi Dangal Warriors in a gripping final at the Noida Indoor Stadium. The championship was clinched in the final women’s 62 kg contest, where Iryna Koliadenko’s dominant win sealed the title for Haryana.

The dramatic final concluded with Haryana Thunders winning the championship trophy and Rs 1.5 crore in prize money, while Delhi Dangal Warriors received Rs 75 lakh as runners-up.
