Amid escalating political tensions in West Bengal’s Falta Assembly constituency, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh stated that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is unlikely to win, suggesting recent actions are to boost morale. Ghosh highlighted historical voter suppression and intimidation, claiming people were previously unable to vote due to various irregularities.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered a complete repoll across all 285 polling stations in Falta following severe electoral offenses during the second phase of voting. Repolling, including at auxiliary stations, is scheduled for May 21, with vote counting set for May 24 separately from other constituencies.
In addition to Falta, repolling has been ordered at 15 booths in Diamond Harbour and Magrahat Paschim constituencies due to reported irregularities. These developments have heightened political tensions in West Bengal as parties prepare for the upcoming repoll and counting days, with allegations and counter-allegations shaping the discourse.
