Senior BJP leader B. Sriramulu stated that the people in Karnataka are determined to remove the Congress party from power by 2028. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s success in the upcoming Bagalkot and Davanagere bye-elections. Sriramulu emphasized the importance of ensuring victory for the BJP in these polls to prevent the continuation of what he referred to as the Congress government’s ineffective governance.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s campaign efforts were criticized by Sriramulu, who claimed that despite the focus on development and guarantees, the lack of tangible progress has disillusioned voters. He highlighted issues such as rising prices affecting the poor and the alleged failure of government schemes to provide adequate support to the people. Sriramulu accused the Congress of resorting to caste-based politics to secure votes.
Sriramulu further criticized the government’s management of the transport sector, pointing out the lack of new bus acquisitions and insufficient funds for basic maintenance. He raised concerns about the effectiveness of the government’s guarantee schemes, alleging financial burdens on beneficiaries and widespread corruption in programs like the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. The BJP leader also refuted claims of his party being casteist, accusing the Congress of exploiting caste identities for political gains.
