Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister Rakesh Singh stated that investigations into alleged land transactions should proceed if there is evidence of wrongdoing. The remarks come amidst a political dispute over land purchases involving Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his family members. Singh, speaking in Jabalpur, emphasized the importance of uncovering any improper accumulation of assets.
The BJP leader accused the Congress of politicizing the issue and urged for a factual presentation to the public. He cautioned against using allegations for political propaganda. The controversy escalated after the Madhya Pradesh Congress demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter, citing the need for transparency regarding the Chief Minister’s relatives.
State BJP president Hemant Khandelwal defended Chief Minister Yadav in a video statement, dismissing the allegations as misleading. He mentioned that Yadav’s family members would address the accusations soon. Despite the support from several ministers and BJP leaders, Chief Minister Yadav has not publicly commented on the controversy.
