BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari stated that Mamata Banerjee has become “irrelevant” in West Bengal politics following the Trinamool Congress’ loss in the Assembly elections. Adhikari, who won from Nandigram and Bhabanipur, emphasized the BJP’s commitment to act against violence without considering religious or community affiliations. He thanked the Election Commission for conducting peaceful and fair elections.
Adhikari visited the Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Kolkata to express gratitude for the smooth election process. He commended the Election Commission for ensuring violence-free polls and transparent counting procedures. Adhikari highlighted increased voter participation in Bhabanipur, noting the setup of polling booths in large housing complexes for the first time.
Regarding Mamata Banerjee’s post-election actions, Adhikari refrained from direct comments and expressed hope for appropriate constitutional steps. He stressed that Banerjee is now insignificant in West Bengal politics and urged for a focus on relevant matters. Adhikari emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards violence, promising legal action against perpetrators, regardless of party affiliations.
