In an effort to streamline commuting on the busy Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-48, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Manoharpura Toll Plaza in Rajasthan. This system aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in toll operations by enabling vehicles to pass through toll locations without stopping.
Following the successful launch at Manoharpura, NHAI plans to transition the toll plaza at Shahjahanpur to the MLFF system, ensuring a seamless and barrier-free travel experience on the Delhi-Jaipur route. The implementation of MLFF has not only reduced operational costs associated with physical toll plazas but has also improved the overall tolling ecosystem.
The MLFF system integrates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology with FASTag-based Electronic Toll Collection, allowing for automated user fee collection with minimal human intervention. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of leveraging technology to enhance citizen-centric services and facilitate ease of living and doing business.
For a hassle-free MLFF experience, National Highway users must maintain sufficient balance in their FASTag accounts to avoid issues such as insufficient balance or nonfunctional FASTags. In cases of non-payment, users receive an Electronic Notice (E-Notice) and are required to pay the normal user fees within 72 hours to avoid additional charges.
