Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal, labeling him as “scared and anxious.” This reaction came after two FIRs were filed in Punjab against Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, who recently joined the BJP along with six other AAP MPs. Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra stated that Kejriwal is fearful due to the departure of seven MPs, highlighting dissatisfaction with his leadership style and alleged corruption. Mishra emphasized that the departing MPs were close allies of Kejriwal, indicating a weakening of his influence.
Expressing worry about law and order in Punjab, Mishra criticized the utilization of Punjab Police for political motives against former AAP associates instead of addressing criminal cases. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh accused the AAP of seeking revenge against Sandeep Pathak, who was previously a prominent figure within the party. Chugh condemned what he described as vendetta politics and predicted a strong response from the people of Punjab.
Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar cautioned that he might be the next target for scrutiny. Jakhar criticized the AAP, asserting that neither Sandeep Pathak nor any BJP member fears retribution. He warned Kejriwal against casting aspersions, stating that those in glass houses should not throw stones. Jakhar highlighted the exposure of what he termed the AAP’s true nature in Punjab, suggesting a decline in the party’s influence in the state.
