Senior BJP leaders have strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his reported “traitor” remark, deeming it offensive to the Sikh community and disrespectful to the armed forces. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasized the gravity of the term “traitor,” highlighting the significant contribution of Sikhs to the armed forces despite being a minority.
BJP National Spokesperson R.P. Singh pointed out the Congress party’s opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and raised questions about their engagements with China. Delhi BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely expressed the Sikh community’s dismay over the remark attributed to Rahul Gandhi, citing historical instances of targeting Sikh leaders within the Congress party.
The BJP leaders underscored that such statements not only undermine national unity but also hurt the sentiments of communities that have made substantial sacrifices for the country. The confrontation between Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, where Gandhi referred to Bittu as a “traitor,” sparked further controversy within the political arena.
