Veteran BJP leader R. Ashoka and State party President B.Y. Vijayendra met with BJP President Nitin Nabin in New Delhi to discuss alleged cross-voting by BJP legislators during the Karnataka Legislative Council elections. The national leadership assured that appropriate action would be taken after gathering all relevant information.
B.Y. Vijayendra stated that they presented all facts related to cross-voting to Nitin Nabin, who indicated that strict action would be inevitable. The party’s focus was also on strengthening the BJP in Karnataka, with a directive to work towards regaining power in the state.
R. Ashoka mentioned that the BJP’s national leadership had taken charge of the issue and requested the state unit to provide any additional information. The Central leadership sought more inputs from the state unit regarding the Legislative Council election developments. There were no instructions for the state leaders to return to Delhi for further discussions.
The BJP leadership initiated a fact-finding exercise to investigate the alleged cross-voting, which has sparked political discussions within the party post the Legislative Council elections.
