As per the Election Commission of India’s trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in West Bengal, with senior party members expressing confidence in forming a government in the state for the first time. BJP MP Vinod Tawde emphasized the significance of BJP’s potential victory in Bengal, linking it to national security concerns. Tawde highlighted a shift away from appeasement politics, citing the rejection of false promises by the people of West Bengal.
The BJP leader noted the historical prevalence of violence during elections in West Bengal and praised the peaceful conduct of the recent polls. He expressed optimism about the country’s response to the potential BJP government in West Bengal, alongside Assam and Puducherry, which would bring the total to 25 states under BJP governance. This, he mentioned, aligns with the vision for a developed India by 2027.
Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary, attributed the electoral success to the support of the citizens, particularly endorsing Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to serving the underprivileged and advancing the nation. Chugh highlighted the emotional resonance of the mandate, referencing the suffering experienced by the people of West Bengal during the previous administration. He interpreted the results as a nationwide endorsement of PM Modi’s leadership and a rejection of oppressive governance.
Chugh further commented on the electoral performance of the Congress party in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, suggesting a lack of public support for the party. He predicted continued electoral challenges for Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, based on the current trends, emphasizing a broader shift in national sentiment towards the BJP’s governance approach.
