A day before the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in West Bengal, party leaders expressed optimism, calling it the “second freedom” for the state after Independence. They believe that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, West Bengal will now progress towards development. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the party’s first Chief Minister in West Bengal on Saturday.
BJP MP Raju Bista highlighted the significance of this moment, emphasizing that West Bengal has now gained its second freedom, this time from the Congress, CPM, and Trinamool Congress. He mentioned that the people of West Bengal are eager to advance on the path of development in sync with the nation.
Jyotirmay Singh Mahato, another BJP MP, criticized the previous government, urging the Trinamool Congress to “go on a tour.” He emphasized that the upcoming government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will prioritize inclusive development with the motto ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas.’ Mahato also stated that the people of West Bengal no longer support the Trinamool Congress.
Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva, described the formation of a government in West Bengal as ‘significant.’ He noted that Bengal had been lacking in development and had a reputation for exploitation and intrusion. Sachdeva expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the state would witness comprehensive progress.
Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, extended best wishes for the new Bengal government, highlighting the end of what she termed as the ‘goonda raj’, atrocities, and appeasement politics in the state. BJP leader Debasree Chaudhuri praised the party for providing opportunities to women from all walks of life in the recent election.
Agnimitra Paul, a BJP MLA-elect, emphasized the party’s vision for a ‘Sonar Bangla’ and acknowledged the increased responsibility towards all voters, especially women. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak expressed disappointment among leaders of certain parties and expressed confidence that West Bengal, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, would now progress towards development.
