Criticizing the Congress-led Karnataka government, BJP MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy expressed disappointment over the reluctance to transfer the Ballari violence case to the CBI. Reddy raised concerns about the attack on his residence in Ballari, questioning if Karnataka was moving towards a situation similar to Sri Lanka.
Reddy accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of playing down the seriousness of the Ballari violence incident, where Ballari MLA Nara Bharath Reddy and supporters reportedly engaged in violent acts resulting in casualties. The BJP core committee and a protest rally in Ballari demanded a CBI inquiry, but the Chief Minister’s response highlighted a lack of willingness to hand over the case.
Highlighting the need for justice, Reddy questioned the Chief Minister’s hesitation in transferring the case despite boasting about previous CBI referrals. He criticized the handling of the violence involving a Congress legislator, alleging attempts to suppress the case by diverting attention and raising unrelated issues.
