BJP MP and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S. Bommai criticized Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah “traitors,” stating that such remarks were disrespectful to the nation.
Bommai emphasized that PM Modi, elected thrice by the people, has received global acclaim for his leadership. He highlighted the government’s actions on national security, including the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorism.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s comments, Bommai, considering Gandhi’s constitutional position, condemned the remarks as inappropriate and insulting to the constitutional offices held by the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
Bommai also criticized the Congress party’s diminishing presence in recent state elections and warned that Gandhi’s statements could further harm the party’s standing. He demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi, warning of consequences if one was not issued promptly.
