Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal, accompanied by numerous women, participated in the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Yatra’ from Chandni Chowk’s Town Hall to the iconic Red Fort. The event precedes a Special Session of Parliament starting on April 16, focusing on amendments to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023, and a proposed delimitation Bill to enable one-third reservation for women in Parliament.
During the rally, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He highlighted the forthcoming Women’s Reservation Bill to be tabled in Parliament, aiming for its approval in both Houses for broader societal impact.
Participants expressed strong support for the Women’s Reservation Bill, emphasizing its significance beyond politics to encompass economic, societal, and cultural domains. They stressed the transformative potential of the Bill in recognizing women’s contributions across various sectors, advocating for its passage as a crucial step towards gender equality.
Following the conclusion of the rally at the Red Fort, Khandelwal remarked to the press that April 16 to 18 would mark significant dates for India, hinting at the anticipated discussions and outcomes during the upcoming parliamentary session.
