Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs expressed that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is in a state of panic ahead of the May 4 Assembly election results. This reaction followed Banerjee’s late-night visit to a school in South Kolkata, where she alleged tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) stored in a strong-room for the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency.
BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain stated that the Trinamool Congress is exhibiting signs of panic due to the looming fear of defeat. He emphasized that the public has already made its decision, with the BJP poised for a strong showing as indicated by exit polls.
Furthermore, Hussain highlighted that the Trinamool Congress appears to be seeking excuses for a potential loss, aiming to shift blame onto the Election Commission. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Trinamool Congress, labeling its members as part of a “mafia culture” and accusing them of resorting to tactics of denial, diversion, and drama.
