BJP National President Nitin Nabin was sworn in as a member of the Rajya Sabha, marking his first term as a Member of Parliament. The oath ceremony also included several other new members, such as BJP’s Shivesh Kumar and Ramnath Thakur from Bihar, Terash Gowalla and Jogen Mohan from Assam, and Pramod Boro from UPPL. Additionally, Sanjay Bhatia from BJP and Karamvir Singh Boddh from Congress were sworn in from Haryana.
From various states, other members who took the oath included Vinod Tawde from Maharashtra, Sujit Kumar from Odisha, Lakshmi Verma and Phulodevi Netam from Chhattisgarh. The House also paid tribute to the late playback singer Asha Bhosle and former MP and Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai.
Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan highlighted Asha Bhosle’s illustrious career in music, spanning over eight decades and earning her prestigious accolades like the Padma Bhushan and National Film Awards. The House also mourned the passing of Mohsina Kidwai, recognizing her extensive service in various legislative bodies and ministries over nearly six decades.
