As campaigning intensifies before the first phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal on April 23, Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Nabin has strongly criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress government. Nabin, addressing a rally in Raiganj, highlighted the people’s discontent with the current state government and their determination to bring about a change.
Nabin emphasized the widespread dissatisfaction among West Bengal residents due to their experiences over the past five years, leading to a strong desire for a new administration. He specifically pointed out Banerjee’s focus on issues like Bangladeshi infiltrators rather than addressing the plight of women who have faced humiliation and crimes in the state.
Accusing Banerjee of double standards, Nabin underscored the public’s growing awareness of what he described as the Chief Minister’s hypocrisy. He also criticized the Trinamool Congress for opposing the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, despite having a female Chief Minister, alleging a lack of commitment to women’s rights.
Placing his confidence in the women voters of West Bengal, Nabin expressed optimism that they would play a pivotal role in the upcoming elections by holding the current government accountable. He asserted that the BJP’s stance against Bangladeshi infiltrators resonates with the public, signaling a shift in political dynamics in the state.
