Actor Govinda expressed his sorrow at the passing of filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani, whom he described as the foundation of his career in the film industry.
Speaking to the media, Govinda acknowledged Nihalani’s role in lifting him and other artists out of poverty, stating, “He took us from the ground, and made us soar to greater heights. I bow to the Sindhi community and to Pahlaj Nihalani ji. I pray to God to bless his soul with peace.”
Pahlaj Nihalani, known for his controversial tenure as the CBFC chief, passed away at 76 after battling a prolonged illness. His last rites were conducted at the Santa Cruz crematorium in Mumbai, with several prominent personalities from the industry in attendance.
Farhan Akhtar, Shatrughan Sinha, Varun Dhawan, and others paid their respects to Nihalani, highlighting his significant contributions to the Hindi film industry over the years.
