BJP National President Nitin Nabin engaged with a delegation from Nepal’s ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by Rabi Lamichhane, discussing the BJP’s ideology and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance style.
As part of the ‘Know BJP’ initiative, Nabin introduced the delegation to the BJP’s organizational structure and its strategy for public involvement. He highlighted the party’s functioning from the national to the booth level, emphasizing the essential role of BJP workers in connecting with citizens and addressing grassroots issues.
Nabin underscored the longstanding ties between India and Nepal, based on shared civilization, cultural bonds, and strong people-to-people connections. Such interactions were seen as crucial for enhancing democratic dialogue and closer engagement between political parties in the two countries.
The RSP delegation showed interest in learning about the BJP’s membership process, candidate selection criteria, and methods for identifying and nurturing grassroots leaders. Nabin explained that the BJP’s organizational strength stems from continuous public outreach, engagement at the booth level, and active citizen participation in the democratic process.
The BJP president also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s governance model, focusing on development, public service, good governance, and effective welfare delivery as core principles of the party’s political philosophy. Discussions also touched on the increasing influence of Generation Z in politics and the role of young people in shaping democratic participation and future leadership.
Several senior BJP leaders, including Arun Singh, MPs Sanjay Jaiswal and Bansuri Swaraj, and Vijay Chauthaiwale, attended the meeting. The Nepalese delegation visited the BJP Media Centre and Central Library to understand the party’s communication and knowledge management systems.
The interaction concluded with a lunch meeting attended by prominent BJP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP chief Harsh Malhotra. The meeting is part of the BJP’s efforts to engage with political parties in South Asia and showcase its organizational model and governance experience through the ‘Know BJP’ initiative.
