Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating yoga to a worldwide movement during the International Yoga Day event in Ahmedabad. Vishwakarma joined citizens at the Sabarmati Riverfront for a mass yoga session organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. He credited PM Modi for enhancing global awareness about yoga and emphasized its significance beyond physical exercise, calling it a holistic lifestyle practice.
Vishwakarma emphasized the multiple benefits of yoga, including stress reduction, enhanced concentration, immunity boost, and promotion of a healthier life. Encouraging the integration of yoga into daily routines, especially among the youth, he stressed its transformative impact on overall well-being. The event was part of the broader ‘International Yoga Day’ celebrations across Gujarat and the nation, promoting physical and mental wellness through community yoga sessions.
State Minister Darshana Vaghela, MP Dinesh Makwana, legislators, and other dignitaries participated in the Sabarmati Riverfront program, engaging in various yoga postures and breathing exercises. The day, observed annually on June 21 following a United Nations resolution in 2015, aims to foster global well-being through yoga practices.
