B.Y. Vijayendra, the State BJP President, raised concerns over Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s criticism of the RSS and the underdevelopment in Kalyana Karnataka. Vijayendra highlighted the long political influence of Priyank Kharge’s father, Mallikarjun Kharge, in the region and questioned why despite their leadership, Kalaburagi district remains backward. He also criticized Priyank Kharge for focusing on national and international issues rather than addressing local developmental challenges.
Vijayendra further emphasized the need for Minister Priyank Kharge to understand the RSS’s historical significance and its contributions to society. He questioned Kharge’s silence on issues like education, health, and regional development in Kalaburagi and Kalyana Karnataka. Vijayendra challenged Kharge to address the backwardness highlighted in a recent report and questioned his commitment to addressing local concerns.
The State BJP President accused Priyank Kharge of neglecting his responsibilities as a district in-charge Minister by not convening development meetings and failing to address critical issues like water scarcity. Vijayendra also challenged Kharge to a debate on the development of Kalyana Karnataka compared to Shivamogga during the BJP government’s tenure. He urged Kharge to spend time understanding the RSS before engaging in debates and criticized the Karnataka government for delaying local elections.
