BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar revealed plans for an awareness campaign starting on January 7 to educate the public about the Viksit Bharat — Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025. The campaign will kick off in Fazilka district, emphasizing the scheme’s benefits for the underprivileged. Jakhar highlighted that the new law, aligned with the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ policy, increases guaranteed employment days to 125 and ensures accountability for laborers not receiving work.
The initiative aims to combat corruption by ensuring direct wage transfers to laborers’ bank accounts. Jakhar criticized the AAP government and Congress for spreading misinformation and opposing the pro-poor scheme. He emphasized the importance of holding authorities accountable for providing employment days, a key feature of the new legislation. The BJP plans to counter the alleged propaganda against the welfare scheme through an extensive public awareness drive.
