The BJP has expressed worry over the Karnataka government’s plan to shut down over 600 Kannada-medium schools in the state. Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai criticized the government, stating that financial troubles have led to the closure of 638 Kannada-medium schools. He emphasized the need to reopen these schools, calling the move anti-Kannada.
Basavaraj Bommai condemned the shutdown of Kannada schools, highlighting the government’s inability to pay salaries as a reason behind the closures. He urged for the restoration of these schools to support Kannada education. Additionally, he criticized the Congress for its actions in Parliament, accusing its members of disruptive behavior.
Responding to the Congress’s no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Bommai criticized the party for its behavior in Parliament. He expressed disappointment in the Opposition’s conduct, labeling it as disruptive and lacking focus on addressing public issues. Bommai also questioned the likelihood of smooth proceedings in the House under the leadership of the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.
