The 77th Republic Day was joyfully observed at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state office in Jaipur. Madan Rathore, the BJP’s Rajasthan unit President, and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma hoisted the national flag, extending warm Republic Day wishes to the people of Rajasthan. Rathore highlighted the significance of January 26 as the day when India’s Constitution came into effect, laying the foundation of the nation’s democracy.
The BJP leader emphasized the party’s deep respect for the Constitution, stating that the BJP has consistently upheld its values in governance. He underlined the importance of discipline, equality, and adherence to the rule of law as taught by the Constitution for maintaining law and order and ensuring a dignified life for all citizens. Rathore praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his reverence towards the Constitution, symbolized by touching it to his forehead upon assuming office.
Rathore also mentioned the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development and nation-building, emphasizing the party’s efforts to ensure that the benefits of freedom reach every citizen. He contrasted India’s strong constitutional system with the weakening systems in neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, where citizens are facing challenges in protecting their rights. The BJP leader stressed the need to not only honor the Constitution but also to establish a system that fosters the holistic development of society while nurturing integrity, discipline, and national character among citizens.
The Republic Day event saw the presence of various dignitaries including MP Ghanshyam Tiwari, former state president Satish Poonia, MLA Gopal Sharma, and other party officials and workers from different sectors.
