The BJP in Telangana has raised concerns about alleged intimidation and interference in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in several parliamentary constituencies. The party delegation met with the Chief Electoral Officer to address these issues and requested the deployment of senior officers from other states as roll observers. They highlighted incidents of intimidation and coercion reported within the constituencies.

The BJP leaders expressed worries over reports of AIMIM and Congress workers engaging in intimidating voters, particularly those who have migrated to Hyderabad from other parts of India. Complaints suggest that these voters are being misled about their eligibility to vote in Telangana and are facing pressure to return to their native states. The delegation emphasized the importance of protecting every citizen’s right to participate in the electoral process without fear or discrimination.

The BJP delegation also informed the CEO about statements made by ruling party leaders, including the Chief Minister, regarding voter enrollment in rural areas. They clarified that voter ID cards are not mandatory for availing government benefits, as confirmed by the Chief Election Commissioner. The BJP urged the CEO to issue a clarification through the media and called for an immediate investigation into the alleged interference in the electoral enumeration process.

The party demanded strict action against those involved in illegal activities and requested the deployment of Central forces in sensitive areas to ensure voter protection. They emphasized the need to safeguard voters from coercion and undue influence during the electoral process.
