With the final rounds of counting ongoing, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to establish governments in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry. BJP MP Ravi Kishan attributed this electoral success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing the end of dynasty politics under his governance. He credited PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the BJP’s strong performance in West Bengal.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat noted that the party’s victory in West Bengal was not unexpected. She criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s alleged authoritarian behavior over the past 15 years. Sehrawat also accused Banerjee of failing to act on a sexual assault and murder case, leading to discontent among women and youth in the state.
Sehrawat further claimed that Banerjee obstructed the implementation of Central government policies like the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme in West Bengal. She attributed the BJP’s success to PM Modi’s development agenda and commitment to democracy, as endorsed by the people of Bengal.
BJP MLA Maithili Thakur highlighted the popular demand for change in West Bengal during the campaign period. Thakur emphasized that the election results reflect the state’s desire to end the alleged “hooliganism” and corruption associated with the Trinamool Congress. The people of Bengal, according to Thakur, seek a governance model focused on development and accountability.
