BJP National Spokesperson Rohan Gupta criticized Congress MP Imran Masood and Maharashtra Samajwadi Party chief Abu Azmi for prioritizing appeasement politics over justice for innocent citizens affected by terror attacks. Masood and Azmi had expressed concerns about innocent people being arrested in connection with an alleged terror conspiracy involving links to Pakistan’s ISI and Bangladesh-based radical groups.
Imran Masood emphasized the need for caution in anti-terror operations to prevent wrongful arrests of innocent individuals. His remarks came after the recent arrests of eight suspects in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal for their alleged involvement in a major terror plot orchestrated by Pakistan’s ISI and Bangladeshi radical organizations.
Gupta stressed that terrorism has no religious affiliation and should not be politicized. He questioned the basis of claims regarding wrongful arrests and emphasized the importance of taking strict action against terrorists while safeguarding innocent lives. Gupta also highlighted the need for unity in combating terrorism without succumbing to appeasement politics.
Security agencies issued an alert about a potential explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort following Intelligence inputs indicating a threat from the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. A coordinated security operation was initiated based on specific Intelligence inputs about a suspected terror module planning activities across different regions. During the raids, authorities seized multiple mobile phones and SIM cards from the accused for further investigation.
The recent developments occurred against the backdrop of a car explosion near the Red Fort in November, resulting in casualties and injuries. The ongoing examination of seized devices aims to uncover the extent and reach of the suspected terror network.
