The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka held a protest rally in Haveri city, denouncing the alleged rise in serious crimes due to the state government’s appeasement politics. BJP Karnataka President B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the Congress government for its anti-Hindu and anti-farmer stance, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory.
Vijayendra emphasized the need to support Hindus and raise awareness among the public, aiming to replicate the BJP’s success in West Bengal. He accused the state government of neglecting farmers’ interests, particularly regarding the Bidadi township project, and announced plans for a protest in Bengaluru.
Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai joined the protest, condemning what he termed as atrocities against Hindus and the government’s failure to address farmers’ concerns. Bommai highlighted alleged collusion between the police and criminal elements in Haveri district, calling for the removal of the current government.
The rally saw the presence of prominent BJP leaders, including former minister Byrathi Basavaraj and district president Virupakshappa Ballari, as they voiced their discontent with the prevailing situation in Haveri.
