BJP State President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, praised Nadaprabhu Kempegowda’s vision, acknowledging his role in elevating Bengaluru’s stature nationally and globally. Speaking at the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations, Vijayendra highlighted Kempegowda’s enduring influence even 517 years after his birth, emphasizing his significant contributions to the city and the state. During the tenure of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, funds were allocated for a Kempegowda Study Centre to promote Kempegowda’s legacy worldwide.
Former Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan also lauded Kempegowda’s legacy, expressing optimism about its impact on future generations. He commended Yediyurappa’s decision to name the Bengaluru International Airport after Kempegowda, underscoring the government’s efforts to honor the city’s founder through various initiatives. Notable dignitaries, including Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai, also paid tribute to Kempegowda’s visionary leadership and enduring legacy.
