A tragic incident unfolded in English Bazar, West Bengal, where a 28-year-old BJP supporter named Kishan Haldar was brutally murdered. The incident occurred in the Gadua More area of Ward No.1 of English Bazar Municipality late Wednesday night. Kishan’s body was discovered about 500 meters from his home in the Baganpara area of Maheshpur, with a large knife found near the scene.
The police suspect that Kishan was fatally attacked with a cleaver, leading to his untimely demise. Additionally, two of his friends sustained injuries during the incident. Notably, Golam Halder and his son Suman Halder, who are neighbors of the deceased, have been implicated in the case. The BJP, however, has refuted claims of political motivation behind the murder, citing a personal dispute between Kishan and the Halder family.

Contrary to political implications, the BJP asserts that the accused have no political affiliations. The area witnessed heightened tension post-incident, prompting the immediate deployment of central forces and police to the location for further investigation and to maintain order.
