Reacting to the tragic death of a minor girl in Tamil Nadu, BJP Tamil Nadu Chief Spokesperson, Narayanan Thirupathy, criticized the state government for the lack of significant changes in administration and law enforcement despite a change in leadership. Thirupathy emphasized the need for systemic reforms, pointing out the ongoing crimes against women and children in the state.
He expressed disappointment in the government’s response to recent incidents, highlighting the persistent issues of murders, rapes, and crimes against women and children. Thirupathy urged for concrete actions and reforms to address the root causes behind such crimes, particularly focusing on the role of liquor and drugs in fueling these incidents.
Questioning the effectiveness of recent measures, Thirupathy called for more substantial steps from the government to tackle the rising cases of crimes against women and children. He specifically raised concerns about the delays in handling cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, emphasizing the need for reforms in both law enforcement and the judicial system.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 10-year-old girl who had gone missing was found dead near Kannampalayam Lake in Coimbatore district. The police have arrested two suspects accused of kidnapping and murdering the girl. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C.
