BJP’s B.S. Yediyurappa emphasized the party’s commitment to securing victories in the upcoming local body elections in Karnataka. Meetings with key leaders across districts have commenced to strengthen the party structure. Yediyurappa highlighted the focus on exposing the current government’s mismanagement to garner support for party candidates.
Yediyurappa differentiated between the governance styles of former CM D. Devaraj Urs and current CM Siddaramaiah. He criticized the government’s alleged corruption and emphasized the BJP’s success in local body elections statewide. The party aims to secure a significant majority in the next elections.
Notably, Yediyurappa made no mention of an alliance with the JD(S) during his media interaction. BJP leaders in Mandya district oppose aligning with the JD(S) following statements by H.D. Deve Gowda about independent contesting. Displeasure over Deve Gowda’s remarks was expressed during a core committee meeting.
Former MP Narayana Gowda highlighted the BJP’s support for JD(S) in past elections, despite recent decisions by Deve Gowda to contest independently. Deve Gowda emphasized the JD(S)’s independent stance in local body elections, focusing on strengthening the regional party. He affirmed the JD(S)’s alignment with the NDA for national-level polls.
