The BJP is set to commence the Jana Ashirwad Yatra in Assam on Saturday, a 10-day outreach program aimed at connecting with the public before the upcoming Assembly elections. The yatra, scheduled to run until March 9, will traverse various districts in the state. Senior state government ministers and top BJP leaders will participate in this initiative across different districts.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized that the Jana Ashirwad Yatra is not just about showcasing the government’s accomplishments but also about engaging directly with the people of Assam. He highlighted the importance of seeking the public’s blessings and understanding their aspirations and concerns at the grassroots level. Sarma underlined the government’s focus on infrastructure development, education, healthcare, employment, and social welfare, while also emphasizing the preservation of Assam’s identity and demographic balance.
Sarma expressed confidence in the BJP’s strong position in around 103 out of the 126 Assembly seats up for election in the state. He noted the minimal presence of opposition parties in these constituencies, indicating a favorable outlook for the BJP and its allies. The Jana Ashirwad Yatra is expected to cover more districts in the upcoming days as part of the party’s preparations for the forthcoming political events in Assam.
